The Woodlands Township is making daily commutes more convenient with the introduction of the WE TIX Smart Card, a new tap and go payment option for riders of The Woodlands Express. Designed to simplify the boarding process, the Smart Card offers a faster and more efficient way to travel.
Smart Cards are free for the first 12 months for a limited time; standard fares apply. In 2027, Smart Cards will be available for purchase for $2 each. Riders can pick up a card at any Woodlands Express Park and Ride location.
Riders can load their preferred fare product onto their account and begin using the Smart Card immediately. When boarding, simply tap the card to pay. Fares are deducted automatically, eliminating the need to scan tickets or wait in line. The WE TIX Smart Card is part of The Woodlands Township’s ongoing effort to enhance transit services and improve the rider experience. By streamlining the payment process, the program supports a more seamless and reliable commute for residents and visitors alike.
