About Our Department

The Transportation Department supports safe, reliable and efficient mobility throughout The Woodlands by providing a range of transit services, infrastructure planning and rider-focused tools. The department works to enhance connectivity, reduce congestion and improve the overall travel experience for residents and visitors.

Services include:

  • The Woodlands Express Park and Ride commuter bus service with direct routes to Downtown Houston, Greenway Plaza, Texas Medical Center and the Energy Corridor 
  • The Town Center Trolley system connecting residents to shopping, dining and key destinations
  • ADA Paratransit and Senior services offering accessible transportation for individuals with qualifying needs
  • Transportation infrastructure planning and coordination to support roadways, pathways and transit facilities
  • Real time tracking tools and mobile ticketing to improve convenience and trip planning
  • Ongoing service enhancements based on rider feedback and community needs

Through strategic planning and continuous improvement, the Transportation Department is committed to providing accessible and dependable transportation options across the community.

Ruthanne Haut

Ruthanne Haut is the Director of Transportation for The Woodlands Township, overseeing The Woodlands Express Park and Ride, Town Center Trolley, and other transit initiatives. With extensive experience in public transportation and government operations, she works to provide efficient, accessible, and high-quality mobility options for residents, commuters, and visitors.
